Time to test you all. A lot of people ask me all the time whether we have any merch, and we never have a good answer.
Part of the problem is that I hate just slapping logos on things. I also don’t like cheesy slogans and it’s hard coming up with anything relevant that would sound good on a shirt
We also definitely don’t want to just copy merch from other tech/security/privacy organizations. We can definitely go for more abstract designs though, they don’t need to just have “PRIVACY” boldly scrawled across the front.
Tell me what shirt you would actually wear! (or any other non-shirt merch ideas too)
Don’t worry about the design: This can be as simple as replying with a slogan or a general idea of what it’d look like, and I’m going to try to work my magic to turn it into a reality.
Of course if you’re a legit graphic designer feel free to help us out even more than that (we really need it haha)
By replying you’re agreeing we can use your ideas and/or design in any future merchandise, obviously. I won’t guarantee this will happen!! However, if it does, I’ll buy you a shirt (or whatever it ends up on) with your design if you want
Reusable tote bags (canvas or denim or other fabric but strong and long lasting)
And of course, all of the aforementioned branded with logos.
Everybody does clothing and sizing is always off for me and they don’t last as long so they feel like a waste of money. Hence, no clothing suggestions, from me atleast.
Hope you like my suggestions/ideas and that some of them comes to fruition.
A slogan I’ve always enjoyed is “the cloud is just someone else’s computer”. Not to say it should include that, but a casual but informative tone, and a little quip like. Maybe “my privacy isn’t your policy”?
Also I could see some cool abstraction of every company splattered that has ever had their data leaked with a phrase like “their mistake, your loss” over a shirt/mug/sticker.
I’ve also mentioned this in a prior thread: privacy is political, and it’s possible to have specific things target this. “Protect Journalists, Respect Privacy”
To add to that, I would also say it should rather be “Privacy is possible” - because a lot if not everyone outside the privacy community believe its not actually even possible and there is nothing anyone can do since they have your data and info anyway.

Edit: This wasn’t meant to be a reply to Insurg3nt.
A set of 12-24 desktop wallpapers with logos, quotes, privacy related graphics that can also be used as screensavers that can be on rotation every month/other week.
But you can’t DRM these, once out - everyone can get it. This can be a perk or something. This way, a lot of quotes or graphics can make the cut from people recommending so everyone feels included.
Something on the lines of “I only consent to IRL cookies” or “Don’t click on me (with a QR with the libertarian snake linking to PG website below the quote)” are things I would buy asap.
