Hello everyone! I’m new here. I have a question about browsers for Android related to privacy and the specifications of my mobile phone. I saw in the recommendations on this forum that the recommended browsers for Android include Brave and Cromite. I have been using Brave for about a year, but I can’t update it because the latest version is not compatible with my device. Besides those two browsers, are there any other alternative browsers for my device? I have an Android 9 device.
I hate to say this but you should really replace your device. Using android 9 is not a good idea and you are at a significant security risk far beyond the browser you use.
Welcome to the forum
have you tryed Ironfox?
I agree with @ph00lt0 . Is your device compatible with any of the alternative Roms? Believe me by using an extremely outdated os you are putting yourself at risk.
Thank you so much guys for the answer. I’ll consider to change my devices
If you can’t change device, I would avoid any native app and use Ironfox .
Harden it: go in Settings > Ironfox Settings and disable printing, WebGL, JIT , WASM. Also disable Add-ons, but check that this doesn’t remove uBlock Origin. This will break many (*) website, but it is crucial. Unlike for modern Android versions, any vulnerability in the browser engine could easily lead to full device access.
*Not as much as you think, perhaps 5-10% of websites, depending on how many modern (advanced things, such as interactive maps) websites you use.
Also consider using Shelter (work profile).
