I see that both Libretube and Newpipe recommendations aren’t on the playstore. Any recommendation for a youtube frontend that is on the playstore?
If you want a YouTube frontend which is available in the Play store i would recommend Grayjay
Note that privacyguides doesn’t officially recommend grayjay; this is a personal recommendation.
In the playstore, it says some data collected and shared with third party. Do you know what “messages” is shared with third party?
Taking a quick look at the Grayjay Privacy policy, my assumption would be that data shared marking on the play store is because of the use of third party payment processors.
Edit: just linking to a Techlore post from 2023 which outlines the domains to block if you want to minimize calls home.

I might get censored for this but just don’t download from the playstore. There is just no reason to.
I’ll switch to GOS eventually and won’t do anymore, but this topic was more for a friend not tech savyy at all
They could use F-Droid. Not more complicated to use than Google Play, and has great supports for all ROMs.
Thanks, I just read this thread, and it convinced me to try.
