I usually don’t try using coupons since many of the codes shown on websites don’t work, but I feel bad for not trying hard or smart enough. I’ve heard good things about Retailmenot, I haven’t tried it yet but I wondering if there are privacy trade-offs.

This recommendation kind of goes against the surface attack reduction in browser extensions. OP is asking an opinion about a coupon service website.
From time to time I check those websites when I need to do some online purchases. Not the best practices to keep visiting those websites and some block Mullvad browser which kind of tells a lot about their intend but what can I say I’m still a human and need to make some online orders and save some money when I can.
