Was wondering if some of you guys have tough about using Telegram premium for file storage. You have 4GB max file size and I think it is unlimited. Of course I would use an encrypted container for sensitive stuff. Thanks!

It doesnt seem like a very good idea from usability, reliability and privacy point of view.
For usability, using file containers means you have to upload and download the whole container for making changes. If your container consist of many small files, then the overhead might be too much, and huge wastage of data, battery and time.
For reliability, Telegram have access and can delete any / all of your messages (file in this case), and if you use your account more than just a file storage, you can get banned for being reported for your messages. Some people got banned for being reported by trolls. If it happens, you would loss your files.
For privacy, Telegram is not privcy friendly.
is there any reason for you to explore this idea?

wouldn’t touch telegram storage even for non-sensitive stuff.
I used to use the self chats as a note taking stuff. But you should avoid it as much as possible.
We don’t even know if they are going to monetise your data soon including any chat history for “AI” training stuff.

Don’t you already get like 2 GB uploads per-file for free? It’s good for offsite backups if you encrypt locally. Telegram’s privacy policies don’t matter if you use a VPN and burner #.

Why do you suggest stopping reading telegram channels?
I suggest using publishing your files in a public telegram channel for this. Even if your personal account is lost, you will still have access to the public channel.

Because I don’t trust the company. They openly lie. Why run code from them on your device?
Not true if troll spam report your messages or Telegram believes(for whatever reason) your message / channel vioates their TOS
Also not true about your claim that all services can access and delete your files.
For messengers, e2ee messengers cant.
For storage, e2ee cloud storage wont know what you store unless you create a public share link so they can see via that public link.
