Chat folders are currently live in the beta channels. This is one of the features I’ve desired the most! Thank you Signal!
You can add specific people/groups to folders, or you can add all 1:1 chats, all group chats, or all unread chats.

Yes there is so many people on Signal it was really needed !
No I am joking, this is nice
signal trying to cope with telegram features ? for users who might want to consider shifting to signal , due to current telegram privacy concerns.
whats the next feature signal could go for ?
Cloud backup is expensive so it seems would be a paid feature.
While i know nth about finance, from Signal’s 2022 financial report, subscriber income is…
As a sustainer 3 myself, I would rather they dont offer functions that put even more pressure on tjeir finance, but if they can integrate other cloud service (meaning NOT Telegram style) then it would be much better.
yeah i don’t think they are going to store users backups on their own infrastructure rather use a 3rd party clouds api for example appl icloud or google drive , just like whatsapp uses.
Though i am expecting a neat implementation from them like default e2e encryption for backup files.
I hope not, even encrypted I don’t want to have to have a Google account to be able to access my Signal backups, I’d rather continue sending my backups to Proton Drive.
Need live location sharing in signal.
Hopefully it’ll be mandatory to encrypt the backup
It actully creates quite a lot of friction if Signal allows (or force) people to pick their cloud backup location.
If default a provider then it causes a long string with that company and expect most of their users have that account. At this point Google account is a good default but it would squeeze storage space, which usuually is already squeezed by whatsapp (!) and many other services.
Telling people to create an account to create a cloud backup seems not a good UX.
Its seems quite problematic to me.
