Public invidious instances - lately been unstable, alternatives on Mac?

On my Mac, I typically stream youtube via public invidious instances. As of lately, all 4 hasn’t always been working for me.

Tried “refresh” or “switch instance”, but barely working. Maybe one video works but another time, it either gives me error or asks me to log in. I tried both while connected to Proton VPN or not.

I tried Freetube and it’s super slow for whatever reason. On my Android GOS, it works flawlessly. Tried Yattee but not quite sure how to set it up.

Any help is much appreciated.

It hasn’t been working for some time as YouTube has increasingly made it more difficult.

It’s a good idea to visit the GitHub page when you run into issues with any app.
