Hi, I remember when you could buy a phone and put apps on it, without having to give your personal details and phone number to a giant corporation. I would really like to put mainstream navigation apps (like what3words and waze) on an iphone without having to sign in with an Apple User ID, that nowadays requires me giving Apple my phone number (i.e. ‘2-step verification’).
Is there a way to do this? Many alternative app stores are out there, like Tweatabox, but these seem to focus on installing unapproved apps. I just want to install normal, generic, popular apps, that ARE on the App Store, but without giving over my personal data.
Some people recommend jailbreaking the iphone. Again, this seems to offer new customizability that you can’t get on a non-jailbroken iphone. But I just want the regular kind of apps, I just don’t want to have to sign in to get them.
You have to come from the other side. Everything you tell Apple is FAKE and / or completely useless for the advertising / telemetry industry.

Apple doesn’t check anything absolutely nothing by classic mail (PIN, Code, Customer Identification Number etc.)
In Germany, it’s different. It can happen that a PIN code is sent to you by letter from a company. But with Apple, you can definitely give wrong address information very well - because all identity checks take place via your phone or email.
Before I forget - here’s another help. As in Part 1, this is perfectly legal and is neither a misdemeanor nor a criminal offense. Surnames.
Let’s say your full name is: Peter Jones
You can really say Apple or enter it everywhere: Peter J.
Apple accepts this. You can also hide your last name completely and technically Apple doesn’t do anything about it.
Peter J. then appears everywhere in the Apple system. Completely legal. So Apple and all telemetry and surveillance capitalism never have your full name.
