Sideloading on iOS

Do you need an Apple ID to sideload apps or other app stores on iOS?

Youre on the EU, can you test it and share back?

:joy:

I dont even know how to sideload when I had an iPhone (not that I’d tried nor was possible at the time).

Last I heard, the app stores have to be installed from the Apple App Store. So, indirectly, an ID is still required.

I managed to install Alt Store using their website with Safari.

There are like two apps available so don’t bother. Sideloading is still a joke. And here I was hoping for YouTube Revanced or something :frowning:

Get a Pixel next time :).

yes. sideloadly/altstore (pc software) requires an Apple ID since side loading relies on certs etc…

and for native side loading inside iOS, not sure but from what I see it relies on App Store (I think) so at some point yes you do need an Apple ID.

you can side load on pc even if you are outside of usa.

It’s basically a complete joke, don’t know how this doesn’t count as malicious compliance.

You should get Brave Browser, it will give you the best experience when it comes to watching YouTube on iOS, it has features like playlists, etc.

Yeah the issue is that there are so many other apps that I want. Not specifically YouTube Revanced.

Maybe one day.

Oh trust me I will. Waiting for the Pixel 10 as we speak. I’m hoping it will have a massively better battery life.

if you are in “EU”, appdb can work but may require apple dev ID.

outside “EU” you definately need apple dev ID to use appdb, in EU i am not sure.
