I also do strongly believe that the opinions from a cryptographer are very valuable.
(What he would say if he could) ![]()
This gave me a laugh) And yeah, i’d love to see reactions back. Some should go, some should be more neutral, but they should exist.
I’m going to miss his robot head reactions
Is it appropriate to ask why one of PG’s most active & qualified members is entirely unable to contribute towards discussion
He is (contractually, professionally, conflict of interest, or otherwise) unable to comment on PG. He had made one reply in the past regarding this, and we can respect his decision not to post.
I don’t think there is a reason to change the available reactions, besides adding more. Not that I want that (I think they are fine now, it just would never hurt to have more options). They already recently greyed them out.
Since when does YouTube own PrivacyGuides?
Poor @james1992
First Microslop shafts VeraCrypt, and now PG is trying to muzzle him.
As history has proven, the removal of reactions represents a descent into despotism. We need to start catapulting cows before we all become The Repressed Peasant from Monty Python.
I am absolutely respecting that, don‘t get me wrong on the following.
Sorry, but I couldn‘t find that one reply? Could you please link to it?
He updated his profile with some infos Profile - james1992 - Privacy Guides Community
I must be missing something but I really don’t understand what happened. Either way @james1992 seems to be okay and I liked learning more aboit him. I had meant to say something for a while but much respect for your work on Veracrypt and likely so many other projects and spaces we will never know.
I remember the first time I encrypted tax docs and intimate photos into a vault and uploaded it to a cloud server with no need to pay anyone some outrageous fee for like 10MB of storage. That was a really freeing experience as enshittification of cloud was really ramping up.

I’m hiding this though because this user has asked for this forum to avoid personal discussions about them in the past, so I assume it’s the same here.
It’s since been deleted.
