The link https://www.privacyguides.org/tools/ is referenced in various places on the site and forum. However, the link is dead and gives HTTP 404 right now. Ad-Free Privacy Tool/Service Recommendations - Privacy Guides works. Suggesting adding an HTTP redirect.
Maybe you can submit a PR on Github for this directly.
If I had been able to sign up anon on Github, yeah. Unfortunately they serve broken CAPTCHA and demand phone number verification if you come from non-unique IP these days.
Fair point, maybe the PG team should consider having their codebase hosted on Codeberg or alike.
@kissu Would be huge supporter of such initiative!
Actually we already do have mirrors: GitHub - privacyguides/privacyguides.org: Protect your data against global mass surveillance programs.
I’m pretty sure Jonah can merge into the upstream hosted on Github if your PR is approved. ![]()
So dope @kissu, thanks for pointing out! Now let’s see if I get around to that PR before someone else does ^^
Thank you, I have a lot of redirects to configure this week and I will add it to the list, although it’s strange because it was already supposed to be there ![]()
Cool, nice seeing you here and cheers for keeping stuff accessible outside of the gated garden!
BTW any idea about timeline for getting a @developers application considered? :3 I did submit one application linking one project previously but also have something new to share since. In case old one is rejected I still want to try again with different submission.
We recently changed our policy to let people post in General > Project Showcase before getting a @developers badge, although the post will be held in a queue until you actually get the badge. But now if you make the post there first, it’ll help our team understand and get to your application more quickly, so I would suggest that approach.
Cool, thanks for clarifying! BTW the category header Posting guidelines link points to About the Project Showcase category which still says
You must be a member of @developers to create a new post here. If you’re working on something cool, send a membership request to that group!
It’s a very new change we’re still testing out ![]()
