Feedback/Question to the new "Group Policy settings to improve privacy/security"?

I just read through the post and wondered if there is a reason you did not include many hardening GPOs for the windows’ defender that are recommended by Microsoft and other windows security specialized like “The PC Security Channel”.

GPOs I miss and find important enough to be mentioned:

  • all GPOs for MAPs/MPengine
  • all GPOs for ASR
  • all GPOs that verdict a warn to block
  • all GPOs that disable powershell scripts and limits the powershell (with a warning that it might not be suited for everyone)
  • LSASS with UEFI lock
  • CFA inside the Windows Defender or as GPO
  • PUA from warn to block (GPO)

The page hasn’t been updated in 11 months. There is just way to much content on PG and not enough people to keep it updated right now.

Oh okay, I thought it was much more up to date, since it got an update 20 minutes ago.

I may have misunderstood what you were looking at. I thought you were referring to

EDIT:

a bit confusing, I guess this is just the draft version of what I was referring to, based on the notice… :man_shrugging:

That edit was from me. Always be sure to check why it was edited.

The last major update seems to have been on June 18 of 2025.

Any discussion involving changes to wikis should probably be in the reply section under the wikis. Wikis on the forum are a community effort, so anyone can make changes to them as they see fit.

Small edits like grammar or fixes, like what I did, likely does not require much discussion if any. The usual due diligence for major changes, like the ones you are proposing, will likely require discussion. But feel free to just edit the wiki if you are are positive that the changes will be uncontroversial to the goal of the guide:

I’m working on a full Windows 11 Guide. Should be ready in a month or 2.
