What do you think of this calendar backup chain?

Hello everyone,

I have tested EteSync and DecSync in the past, and am now using free Nextcloud.

I am ok editing on one device only, so am considering switching to local Fossify calendar due to auto export backups.

Would you consider it secure to use DroidFS and schedule transfer with AutoPie to RSAF?

Thanks for any opinions

Or DroidFS → Resticopia

Both encrypted, to obfuscate

I don’t use any of these apps besides Fossify, but I’m also curious how people handle this kind of thing.

I ended up using Resilio Sync to pass everything I want to back up to:

  1. Desktop, where I already have a chain of apps for backup. Photos go through compression and into Ente, notes go to a restic backup, etc.
  2. A VPS as a reserve backup — Resilio has a feature for syncing with untrusted devices where it handles encryption without bothering the user.

My main idea was that automation and backups is so much easier on desktop than on mobile OS. And since we need backups on desktop anyway, I find it more reasonable to use the desktop backup chain and just bring the phone into it, rather than reinventing it for mobile.

Other than that, I don’t see why your approach isn’t good enough if those apps work for you.

I guess if you prefer FOSS apps, and AFAIK Syncthing could do the same, I just don’t like their android app(apps)
