Calendar app recommendations?

Which calendar app do you guys use and recommend? As I can see, currently Privacyguides only recommends 2 such services namely, tuta and proton. Are there any other good ones which are are private and secure as them?
Thanks

There’s Peergos Calendar: E2EE, self-hostable and fully open source

PG should take a look at it and see if it meets their criteria and works well.

While I don’t know if it is as privbate and secure, I use Posteo with encryption enabled via CalDAV with Fantastical.

Mailbox.org has calendar support. Works well with the oxsync and whatever default calendar app one has installed.

Local calendar app is what I use. You should backup regularly as often as you feel comfortable.

Portion Calendar has a number of features they have yet to release and I don’t know if they will anytime soon because they admitted (Andy Yen’s AMA) they made the wrong choice on some key engineering decisions that has led to poor performance and that the app will need to be revamped.

Tuta implements their own proprietary encryption used for email and calendar which is generally discouraged in the privacy community.

davx5 on mobile will allow you to snc with any nextcloud provider, self-hosted or another provider, and on desktop I use the web interface. Many mail providers offer nextcloud. I’m on disroor.org, whihc offer 2GB free. But I hope to get a nextcloud hardware solution or move to syncthing at some point.

I’m all about minimalism and would rather not bother with creating another account and use some third party cloud provider.

A manual backup is hardly a hassle and takes seconds.

yeah, it 's just most people expect to be able to sync to desktop/mobile device
