What are the differences between OpenCamera and SecureCamera in terms of privacy and functionality?

I am looking for a better camera app for privacy. So I came across the two camera apps in the title; one of the two, SecureCamera, is recommended by PrivacyGuides and is the default camera app for GrapheneOS. However, the other camera app, OpenCamera, while not recommended by PrivacyGuides, it is recommended on Reddit and other privacy app lists.

Here I would like to know how much difference there is between these two apps in terms of privacy and functionality?

Since SecureCamera is recommended in PrivacyGuides, then does it must have some elements that make it better than OpenCamera? From a glance at the list of features, it looks like the features that SecureCamera has are also supported by OpenCamera.

Edit: And it looks like CalyxOS is using a camera app developed by LineageOS called Aperture To me they all seem to offer the same features and privacy related features, but is there a definite difference between them as well?

OpenCamera hasn’t had a commit in [6 years] Nvm, was talking about the wrong one.

You can’t use Aperture aafik unless you are using LineageOS.

It has Exif metadata removal (optional, turned on by default) with every picture you take.

That is not OpenCamera, but some unrelated proprietary app that even limits how many pictures you can take rofl. GitHub is only one of many forges that exist.

OpenCamera is here: Open Camera download | SourceForge.net
And was last updated back in June: https://sourceforge.net/p/opencamera/code/ci/a6673ade58550ed468d53a430608fecfe6bcd721/log/?path=

OpenCamera has a lot of features but isn’t very modern or point and shoot.
It also has limited support for additional cameras.

Aperture exists because most vendors fail to properly expose the additional cameras, so Lineage hardcodes the values in for all the devices they support.
It works well, but the defaults could be better.

SecureCamera works well too, and Pixel’s properly expose their additional cameras so zoom is very seamless. Defaults are also good.

Really just try them and stick with what you prefer.
