Hey everyone, here’s this week’s video! Today, we’re debunking the myth that privacy is dead and that there’s no point in taking action to improve it. Specifically, we’re covering some common retorts for why you shouldn’t take back your privacy; you’ve probably heard them before!

  • I’m going back to using carrier pigeons

  • Privacy is impossible in our digital age

  • There’s no point because they already know everything about me

As always, another great video!

It lays many of the arguments folks have to rest about privacy, though I suspect people will still continue to argue.

Feedback:

  1. Whenever you say something or explain something - we in the know, know that its true. But a lay person or one who is going to be critical of it of it will ask the next obvious question - why do you say that or explain it like that and based on what evidence? So - a couple of examples for each thing/point you talk about will ensure there are no immediate follow up questions for said point and it lays the info/claim at rest. This is an easy and a hard thing to do because there are so many examples you can choose from.
  2. Bite sized videos are great but so are some 10-14 mins videos too so you can get into a particular topic a bit more. In other words, please consider longer videos for further and better exposition on the topic in question.
  3. Great stock video and graphics this time. I liked it.
  4. You can be a little more up-beat and confident with what you’re talking about and explaining to set the optimistic tone about a topic that people normally think is a lost cause otherwise.

As always, these are personal opinions only. But I hope you see that it is valid no matter.

I know completely off topic, but could you consider posting a PeerTube link instead of YouTube? I just think since Jonah is already hosting neat.tube for PG there is no harm in linking it instead.

That’s true I could have used a couple of examples to back things up a bit better, and it is something I can improve on as I’m are able to produce longer videos.

There is a longer video in the pipeline now, it is very time consuming to create these videos as I am trying to make sure we are producing only the highest quality content possible. I am already getting quicker with the production process so there will be more longer videos coming in the future.

Good points, I feel like my narration has already gotten better since the first few videos. I’m always trying to improve it thanks for your feedback on this.

With youtube becoming unusable, I think it is time for me to look into better video sources.

Unironically, I still have to rely on youtube’s algorithms to find good new content from people I have not subscribed to.

What were you thinking? I’m already pretty aware of most of the other options but they don’t really add anything besides not being YouTube. Open to hearing your thoughts or if you have any suggestions though!

Unfortunately we are sort of stuck with YouTube because it has the largest audience.

That’s basically the reason why we are on there, it allows for us to be discovered by more people.
