It would be nice if the YouTube embed did not load until you click on it, so that Google’s scripts is not loaded unless you want it to watch the movie.
I think the only way to change this as you want it to disable previews for all links. And in that case, you’ll have to click the link and go on YT directly to watch.
Doing this will also disable showing of the headline of the website linked making it harder to understand info being shared at a glance.
I’m not sure if this is a good idea. And don’t think it can be done in any other way.
alternatively:

in that way you can load youtube by using the frontend’s embed or one you self host if you do.
Normally privacy guides doent load the youtube link ahead of time but im confused I guess
The new articles are proxied through forum-uploads.privacyguidesusercontent.com, so the article images are not directly loaded from the website. It would be great if YouTube embeds could also be proxied.
Ah! Good to know. I had forgotten about it.
Front ends are so unreliable. I’ve given up trying to keep ensuring which ones work. And posting a front end link and stop working for others anytime - maybe not immediately but surely at some point.
I think what OP meant was the video preview loads which is the YT embed(unless I’m wrong or incorrectly deducing what they meant).
frontends especially the inv.nadeko.net works fine for me actually, and it seems with the owner putting anubis protection it has become even better and the multiple backends helps alot here. So still an option nonetheless (also i suggested that helps if you self host one too but not necessary)
You can prevent videos from automatically loading with “click2load” filters on uBo, see uBo-maker gorhill’s explanation and see a blocklist doing just that but not only for Youtube
They don’t, what you see is a static image stored on the forum.
