Based on the comments on the Strongbox subreddit, this seems like the final nail in the coffin for them. The time has come to finally remove Strongbox from our recommendations.

This is why most startups shouldn’t be trusted in the long-term. I swear if another company gets purchased and screws over their customers afterwards…
There is and has been an industry trend in the tech space where the goal is to build something valuable enough to be able to sell it to a larger company for a payday large enough to immediately retire and create a trust for yourself and your family. And since this is he goal everyone building things in SV and elsewhere have, you get shit like this… everytime.
Also, it is well known that you can only grow so much independently as the larger companies with more power in the industry and otherwise can and do do things that hinder your organic and natural growth which they do not by competing but by other immoral and illegal means.
So, any dev trying to become a sell out and have a quick and easy way out once they are in such a position, it is too tempting of a decision and offer not to take.
