Sure, here is a uBlock Origin static filter rule:
discuss.privacyguides.net##button.btn-flat.btn-icon.no-text.btn:nth-of-type(4)
If you need instructions, I can provide them when prompted.
Oh well this is new though, right?
Yes, X used to be called Twitter back in the hayday.
No, I meant the button ![]()
Huh, I never even noticed that button until you mentioned it.
I’d also like to see it removed or disabled by default. I don’t think we should be advertising for twitter (for many reasons) and I don’t think we should be indirectly encouraging people to use twitter.
Huh, I don’t have this option when I highlight text.
It should be to the right of ‘copy quote’ and the little chat bubble icon when you highlight text. Looks like this:
Seems this and the email button are new. Both are useless though ![]()
In addition to the workaround I provided earlier in this topic, the @admins group have the necessarily privileges to toggle this feature in the Discourse configuration:
Here are the options within the dropdown menu:
The default configuration enables sharing links using Twitter, Facebook, and email in that specific order.
I never noticed this. For me, it’s a white X on an white background so the X really doesn’t stand out.
Thanks, yeah it seems they changed the default setting in the last update, and now it is removed ![]()
Edit: Okay, now it’s removed lol - I was misled by @FranklyFlawless’s setting above, but it’s actually this separate setting here ![]()
I see, Communiteq is still using the v2026.1.1 tagged release which was released on February 26th, so the VanLUG Forum is not affected by this change just yet. Once the Discourse instance has been rebased to the v2026.2.0-latest tagged release, I will revert the upstream change using your post as a reference.
What’s wrong with shitter again? It’s full of our brothers and sisters publicly telling people not to trust the mass surveillance deep state.
If you want public tweets to be private, this forum can’t help you.
