Posting link shortener links to forum/news

Is this a good time to ask if the forum would consider banning top level posts that have no additional commentary and simply link to a telegram channel?

telegram ? I not link telegram ?

I think the other commenter thought t.co is Telegram.

But I have to agree that I would prefer the link being directly to the source and not through some URL shortener by Twitter/X. We’re on a privacy forum after all.

is twitter link , privacy guide official shared the article in the twitter and I send it to there

Yeah I know it’s a Twitter link but I personally think it would’ve been better to just use the link to the article directly (CHAT CONTROL 2.0 THROUGH THE BACK DOOR – Breyer warns: “The EU is playing us for fools – now they’re scanning our texts and banning teens!” – Patrick Breyer) as opposed to using a shortened link like https://www.patrick-breyer.de/en/chat-control-2-0-through-the-back-door-breyer-warns-the-eu-is-playing-us-for-fools-now-theyre-scanning-our-texts-and-banning-teens/.

But after writing this myself I see this is a technical issue. While the normal markdown editor still shows the t.co link the rich text editor shows the expanded link. @jonah Maybe there is a way to either turn this behaviour off or to actually change the underlying link?

Please just flag such posts in the future and a moderator can edit the original post. Thank you :folded_hands:
