PayPal says it will allow businesses to accept payments in over 100 cryptocurrencies

Don’t get too excited from the headline, PayPal isn’t supporting Monero yet. They probably won’t support it ever.

A scenario that caught my attention is when someone with Monero is considering to purchase an item from a vendor that only accepts PayPal

If someone has XMR and wants to buy something from this seller, what do you think could be done? Should they always convert to a stablecoin as mentioned in this article, or rely on another purchase method instead? Is it a waste of time to even try doing this in the first place?

I mean, even normalizing merchants accepting Bitcoin is a win for me. If you use a good non custodial wallet like Cake Wallet, each transaction can have a different address. So it’s still better than other payment processors governing what the public can or can’t buy that which is legal.

Monero is going to be a tall order and we should not hold our breaths. But this is still good news.
