As part of my attempt to make gos work for my needs, and as an excuse to maybe tidy up my app use a little I have been trying alternative socials.
I like mastodon, it’s clean and the app is nice to use. Bluesky is a bit of a sh1t show for me I think, although it does seem to be busier.
But nostr is the one that seems to fit our ethos on platforms like this, yet a lot of the people I follow from privacy and security companies, the type of people that talk about nostr, don’t seem to be on it?
I don’t really know what this post is about lol other than I guess to discuss if we are perhaps not using the tools we recommend and to ask are there any follows on there you guys recommend
I had literally never heard of it until today. The project seems cool, but as I understand it Nostr is a protocol not a social media platform. Am I wrong?
No you are correct. A little bit like mastodon. So you need an app essentially to use it through, of which there are many. Popular ones seem to be Damus and primal.
