I think a better title would be that Mullvad Browser working to provide more browsing options including persistent mode making browser viable for all use cases.
If they are doing this, I would love for them to also include the “Forgetful browsing” option Brave has where the browser does not remember you once you close the tab and not only after closing/quitting the browser.
Brave’s forgetful browsing is mentioned Persistent mode (#299) · Issues · The Tor Project / Applications / Mullvad Browser · GitLab
Sorry, I missed that somehow. Thanks!
Doesn’t that affect one’s ability to stay anonymous? If you’re logged into one site (identity known) and then need to visit some random site on another tab, don’t trackers recognize you’re the same individual?
Well if you log in then it doesn’t matter if you clear your cookies it immediately ties all previous logged in sessions together. So having a persistent mode for sites you log in to would be a very nice convenience feature with no privacy downsides, but you have to be careful that sites you don’t log in to aren’t also persistent.
Also I think this profile based where you can choose on which profile you want to do what and maintain your activity accordingly.
That too I think with the new profiles UI this feature is much more viable.
