Lokinet Compared to VPNs

Hello, I wanted to know if someone could explain to me how Lokinet compares to traditional VPNs. It seems to me that Lokinet can replace your VPN, as it onion-routes your internet traffic through the Lokinet network the same way Tor does with the Tor network. As a result, it guarantees better online privacy than regulars VPNs by design. Lokinet is more versatile than Tor Browser, you can use it for more than web browsing.
My questions are:

  • Is it secure enough to use (enough nodes / users on the net)?
  • If you directly use Lokinet without a VPN, could your ISP easily detect it and red flag you?
  • Would you recommend it instead of a VPN for everyday tasks?
  • If so, why does PrivacyGuides not talk about this solution?
  • Otherwise, is there any solution analogous to VPNs, but better?

Sorry for the load of questions, I am actually quite interested in these alternative networks.
Thanks.
