Koofr (Cloud Storage)

In summary I have been playing around with Koofr all day.
- PROS:
– Webdav, I was able to mount it in Linux and create my own encrypted vaults with Cryptomator.
– With WebDav i also was able to mount it in Nautilus directly without any issue.
– It works really nice with rclone
– The Koofr vault is open source, and you can access your encrypted files online.
– Pretty cheap.

-CONS:
– Looks like the vault part is the only component open source. (This is a no go for me)
– The team is small and the development is pretty slow (same as Filen.io which I like but it is deadly slow).
– I was unable to find any kind of audit.
– The new beta (i know, beta) client for android is pretty bugged.

I think I will return to my original plan of selfhosting SeaFile in a VPS.

Since I need to backup / sync files regularly with my android phone and Proton does not support that, I was testing with rclone + Proton. It’s really a pain, it lost connection due to 2FA at any unexpected times, and as at recent days that they updated their Go component, it finally broke (cannot upload any more). I thought it’s enough for me and have to resort to Koofr + rclone (crypt), everything works smoothly as expected.

And yeah, with its webdav I can sync my bookmarks with Floccus (encrypted) easily too.
