I use anonymous mode a lot. When I see a post I want to reply to, and enter I anonymous mode, sometimes I am given a new anonymous account to post from. This is fine, but it will then make my posts require approval before being published.
This is a new feature, and I wonder why it was added. Is it intentional? If so, why? If not, is there a way to disable it?
My understanding is that new accounts regardless of whether or not they are anonymous will require approval. Is there a way to disable this exclusively for anonymous accounts? I think anonymous accounts are accessible to higher levels anyway, so new accounts cannot bypass the approval process by entering anonymous mode.
Oh I see, I did know there was an increase in spammers, perhaps because of this very approval process.
Do you agree with me that anonymous accounts can be excused from this, assuming that anonymous accounts require some trust level already? I don’t know what the trust level is, to be frank. This post says it’s trust level 1, but that’s a dead link so maybe the information is outdated.
If the trust level is too low, maybe we can boost the trust level in order to excuse anonymous accounts? This of course depends on if its technically possible to differentiate between normal and anonymous accounts.
Edit: On second thought, I would be against the proposal I suggested and instead prefer the current way. I realize that my actual account still has a trust level 1 (meaning that trust level 1 is in fact the threshold for anonymous accounts) lol.
