I have recently switched to invidious fronend, namely I use public instances. Additionally, I found out that some instances does not have video proxying, which means the videos are fetched from youtube itself (googlevideo.com), which results for youtube to be able to see your ip and user agent information. Is it more logical from a privacy perspective to prefer those instances that do have video proxy support? I am aware of potential delay issues, however from my personal experience (using invidious.nerdvpn.de), the difference is not very noticeable compared to inv.nadeko.net, for example. Also, I would like to know, from curiosity, whether such invidious instances with video proxy support enabled can help bypass regional internet blocking aimed against youtube, like those that happen in Russia (obviously if there are no blocking of instances themselves)?
This is only for the non DASH option, which only supports 480p
