With the release of QPR1 and pending GOS support, it might be worthwhile to revisit Desktop mode and see how the new features are implemented.
Also, good news for Android and ARM-based Linux distributions as apparently Valve got SteamOS working on the Snapdragon gen 3 via an emulator called Fex. This is all speculation of course, but we may see increased support for x86 native apps on Android…specifically on the supposed new OEM device that GOS plans to support. That may take years of development though, so I don’t expect a future Snapdragon-based GOS phone to reach feature parity anytime soon.
