After losing its lawsuit with Epic Games for a second time, Google has only 14 days to open up Android to alternative payment processors.
While they are also mandated to allow the download of third-party app stores on the Play Store and share its full app catalogue with them, these requirements are not yet included within this 14-day deadline.
What does this mean for Advanced Protection Mode, or even app stores like F-Droid in the future?
Somehow I have a feeling this will end badly when billing is opened up to others too, even though the idea is nice, of course…

If I understood correctly they would be allowed on the Play Store. Which is also huge. But Google can still appeal the decision up to the Supreme Court. But I think that a final decision will be releaed relatively soon.
If I understood correctly, this changes nothing. APM blocks downloads outside of the Play Store so they would need to change APM to make it allow downloading apps on third party app stores.
