Firefox for iOS now has a built-in ad blocker

Mozilla is rolling out an optional, EasyList-based ad blocker for Firefox on iPhone/iPad. Gradual rollout, so not everyone has it yet and it doesn’t touch search engine ads.

There is also ‎uBlock Origin Lite App - App Store for Mobile Safari:

I gave uBO lite a shot in iOS Safari, and it seemed to perform better than AdGuard. However, I kept running into ads and those pesky cookie pop-ups in the in-app browsers, which is why I stick with AdGuard or Brave.

My problem is I’ve found Brave on Mobile to be worse UI than Safari or Vanadium even though they should be very similar. I have no issue on desktop.

There is also AdGuard (free).

I tried Firefox v154 beta to test the ad block. Not so impressed compared to other browsers with built in blockers like Orion, Brave, DuckDuckGo, as well as v153.3 with enhanced tracking protection on. Just without the blank space which replaced the ads on the current version under enhanced tracking protection while you can still see ads on Google search, Reddit and YouTube.

When other browsers can block almost all ads without extensions on iOS, I have no idea why Firefox is still conservative about ad blocking.
