Why I think this tool should be added
Because it is secure and private cloud storage with E2EE.
Also It is open source.

Filen does not meet the following minimum requirement:
- Must use standard, audited encryption.[1]
There was a pull request in late 2021 to add Filen, but it was rejected on the basis that it did not undergo an external audit. That was still the case in 2023.
This is still the case in 2024, per FIlen’s support page:
Will there be an official security audit?
Yes, to give our users a further sense of security, Filen will be tested by an external company in the near future. As of today, we can’t reveal much about the issue, as no date has been set yet.
You can see that this answer has remained the same since dngray’s comment on the rejected Filen PR in 2023.

Wait, They actual did an audit for their API, encryption and certain codebases, we saw the first page of it in discord similar to how Windscribe’s yegor sak put it here. They were re-writing apps. I am user of filen and follow their Blog posts and was also on discord and knew about this.
This is just my memory. They even planned to do the audit after the rewrite. I mean second re-write after UI refresh.
I might not be right about 2nd audit. But they did an audit and hasn’t published about it.
this is what Filen said about plans for audit on 23 May 2024:
Our previous stance remains; it only makes sense to have finished components/products certified or audited. Otherwise, improving or expanding components would always mean that we would have carried out the expensive audit for nothing or would lose specific certifications.
Certifications require extensive internal preparation (…) We anticipate that these preparations could take up to a year, which is why we have started now to ensure we are ready for official certification once the Filen Spaces development is complete.
