Did you by chance use Simplelogin to sign up? I’ve heard Github doesn’t like Simplelogin.

I used a proton pass passmail email which is basically the same thing yea.

As the account has been flagged, you will need to verify via phone number (IIRC they claim not to store this) before submitting a support request.

Github is pretty hostile to both e-mail aliasing, and also to many private e-mail services. But when I’ve encountered this, reaching out to support and changing e-mail addresses has resolved the issue for me, without the need to provide a phone number.

I don’t know if anything has changed recently. The last time I encountered this was like a year or two ago.
