Deleting Indeed account - phone number roadblock

This is related to the other topic I started ( Overwhelmed newbie - rushed email strategy guidance ), but I believe it warrants a new topic.

In summary, I am losing a longtime email account in a few days and am trying to clear everything out. I am also a newbie with no ability to use crypto and am almost illiterate when it comes to tech.

One of the accounts I have not used in ages and was going to update is Indeed, however, I can’t login without setting up a verification phone number for the account. I am still getting regular messages from Indeed for job postings, so they clearly have not forgotten about me. My real name and other info is out in the open, so I if nothing else I want to poison or deactivate the account, but I am running out of time to login with the email associated with the account.

I imagine something like smspool is the answer, but as mentioned earlier I won’t be able to use crypto. Am I stuck using a credit card to get the smspool number to resolve this? Please keep in mind that I am short on time because of the volume of emails I need to go through and the documents I need to salvage from the email account.

You could use a bank card indeed, better than nothing. Given your limited amount of time your choices are a bit limited.

Otherwise you could also buy a prepaid SIM to verify the phone number maybe? In a local store (if possible in your country).

If in EU, you can always threaten them with some GDPR complain after (by your new updated email) to them.

You could just give them your real phone number in order to log in and delete the account, surely you already gave it to them via your resume anyway, and you’ve likely already identified yourself to them.

To add to @fria’s suggestion, you can always change phone numbers later. Revocation is an important security and privacy practice that is more effective when used frequently, so exercise it often.
