I’m looking for open source browser (has to be based in chromium) with user agent switcher capabilities. I need to run snapchat web on mobile so the browser has to fool the website that in on desktop.
That’s just a basic feature of chromium, however it’s not a guarantee that a website will think you’re on desktop. They can just look at your screen size, orientation, touch capabilities, etc to figure out the truth.
the desktop mode does not work for my use case. Snapchat web will still detect that you are on mobile or unsupported device, you can try yourself, however when using ff with user agent switcher extension it’ll work.
so is there open source chromium based browser with extension support? the kiwi browser is dead.
MS Edge has extension support on Android
edge is closed source and spyware
Cromite
So is Snapchat
no one here claimed snapchat is open source, not a single person
As mentioned earlier in this thread, Cromite doesn’t support extensions, but it has a built-in user agent customizer. If you only consider open-source options, this is the only choice that is Chromium-based with this ability. Keep in mind, it is global and not per website.
will check it out
