Thanks for the heads up!

For those using obtanium to keep the app updated, the URL has changed so you need to remove bitwarden from obtanium (don’t uninstall) and add the new android one back. You should get prompted to update.

glad other people are liking it. i actually hate the way the new ui looks, so much so i downgraded and am sitting on the old version. hate how much gap there is between each of the entries, there (was) some missing things from the new ui compared to the old, although this was before it was generally available. i really do hate material design in a lot of ways.

yeah , i had tried the beta version earlier and realised the beta version was so buggy. I just came back to stable at the point of time.
I am not sure i want to try the stable version now unless all bugs are fixed. or maybe have to wait for 2-3 versions before it gets polished out.
I haven’t got the update in the playstore yet.

This is exactly what you should expect from experimental, alpha, or beta software.

i am afraid the stable version would have quirks too, so looking ahead for positive feedback from all the users.
Also the current app works very well and has all the features. This is mostly UI changing stuff with most functionality remaining the same.

However It will be lot easier for people looking to build the app from source.

only issue i have run into so far is that the ‘use pin to unlock’ feature seems to reset. which is just a mild annoyance.

thats the feature that i use most often :skull: but lets see how it plays out , it still don’t appear on playstore for me.

yeah i use it a ton too but as @Lukas pointed out, its a beta, its going to have bugs. regular BW works great if that feature is critical for you to have working.

its not a beta , as the original post about stable release is separated into new topic , this should be more clear.

what? maybe we are referring to two different things and I misunderstood but, the Bitwarden Beta app for Android is what I was discussing.

That beta got mainlined as shown by user1 above.

Yeah but if you actually use the apk its still called Bitwarden Beta (atleast it is for me) - which leads me to believe its still a beta.

Downloaded the APK (com.x8bit.bitwarden.apk) of the v.2024.10.2 release from here - Releases · bitwarden/android · GitHub. The installed app just says ‘Bitwarden’.

I think I see why, although I don’t understand, maybe someone can clarify for me. If you check the current release you will see APKs such as com.xbit.bitwarden.beta where the app is still Bitwarden Beta

now go to the assets for the release and you will see what I am talking about.
