Be worried about privacy on a survaillence world. And what we can do?

I must confess that I am very afraid of these laws that invalidate privacy, created by governments around the world with the premise of “protecting children.” What makes me even more furious when talking about this topic are the fallacies they use to invalidate our counterarguments.
I agree that we need to protect children online, but this responsibility lies with parents/guardians (and it is parents/guardians who should be punished for neglecting their children).

Therefore, I am quite afraid of these laws. Even my country (Brazil) has a law like this now (although I don’t think anything will happen, because it’s Brazil), but I try to stay calm and think about what I can do.

So, what is your opinion on this and what would you do?

I feel the same way. There is nothing I can do to influence the government. Spending cash while I still can is a priority. I leave my phone at home whenever possible or carry it in a Faraday bag. I avoid cities and try to cover my face. It isn’t bulletproof but better than nothing.

I wouldn’t call it a fallacy to protect children but a lie or red herring. These laws do, to some degree, protect some children at least some of the time. Once those children grow up they become victims of laws intended to protect them.
