Apple Mail vs Gmail - iOS

Slowly switching away from gmail to proton mail, but still need to keep my gmail.

Wanted to switch to Apple Mail app from Gmail app to still receive emails if need be, but I am not sure how much more privtate/secure this option is?
Plus I would have then my gmail linked to the apple account, I think..

their questions is how much more private/secure is Apple Mail from using the Native Gmail app? or if otherwise there’s an alternative (which I’m open to too since I use Apple Mail and don’t really know iOS alternative to Thunderbird and stuff)

Between the two I’d def choose Apple’s mail app, w/ icloud backup/sync disabled, but why are Apple and Google’s proprietary apps the only two options you are considering?

(also if your goal is just to “still receive e-mails if need be” you might consider setting your gmail to forward to your primary/proton account)

An iOS version is in the works:

At the very least, Apple Mail app won’t display ads in your inbox.

won’t display ads in your inbox yet.

FTFY

The F1 ad incident tells me that soon, this might change as well.
