I assume there are a fair few Pixel users here who will appreciate this change once it arrives in stable.

I don’t see the benefit.
Picking up my Pixel will light up the screen allowing me to unlock with a fingerprint. A light tap, if I don’t pick up the phone does the same thing.

Not everyone has tap/lift to wake enabled.
Unrelated, iOS annoyingly doesn’t allow disabling tap to wake.

Definitely appreciate this. It’s something I’ve missed since I switched from my Galaxy A51 to Pixel 8a.
