Google adds Android auto-reboot to block forensic data extractions

GrapheneOS is so good, that everyone just follows what they do.

The title doesn’t specify the feature, so I missed it.

Also, the title of that article is so obnoxious. iOS just copied this from GrapheneOS, but of course news sites will portray Apple as an innovator and say that Android is stealing from iOS, lol.

Why can’t news sites just treat all big tech as equal? They always have to shit on Google and praise Apple.

I wish iOS had more flexibility where if you can set the time frame like how GOS allows you to.

Apple wasn’t the first to implement this feature, though. The privacy-focused GrapheneOS has long offered an optional auto-reboot feature in the name of security. In fact, the Android ROM even moved from the default 72-hour auto-reboot window to just 18 hours. The GrapheneOS team also reported Pixel and Galaxy phone firmware vulnerabilities back in January 2024 that affected devices not at rest. However, these flaws didn’t affect devices at rest (i.e. devices that were turned off or that remained locked after being turned on).

They give plenty of credit to GrapheneOS but yeah they could’ve done it in the title.

No customizable reboot yet. I did find a way to factory reset your iPhone in 5 seconds while Find My is enabled though. Skim through my posts if interested.
