Face recognition vs Fingerprint, which one is more secure?

I know that having a strong password to log into your phone or laptop is great and all, but when comparing these two, which one is more secure? Would you rather give away your facial biometrics or your fingerprint?

For my take on this, I’d say face id is more secure, because with how far it’s developed in recent years, even if you were killed or taken hostage, unlocking your phone won’t be so easy. Not the same case for a fingerprint however.

Depends on the implementation a lot. There’s lots of types of fingerprint unlock and some face unlock implementations are 2D only making them less secure than ones that make a 3D map of your face. Also you can make it so you need to be looking at the phone for face unlock to work for example which would make it harder for someone to unlock your phone while you’re asleep.

FP unlock will pretty much always be good security wise.

Face unlock can vary from very bad (anyone with a photo can unlock) to Extremely Good (3d sensors, awareness check, etc.).

Bit off topic, but is there a reason why there are

Only can think of Pixel 4XL or whichever exact model that was

no android phones with a secure IR face unlock other than not wanting to increase the size of the camera cutout?

I think it’s just that. The notch got memed so hard no one wanted to do it. Plus you give up some screen real estate for it. I read a rumor that Apple is working on tech to be able to have the dot projector and also get rid of the notch but don’t quote me on that.
