Hello everyone, I’m new here and have a question. Why is AdGuard’s private DNS service not recommended under cloud-based DNS filtering? Like NextDNS and ControlD, you can rent a private DNS there for a fee and customize it according to your preferences.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find anything about this in the forum so far.

As a long time lurker on here, I can tell you that just because something is not recommended by Privacy Guides doesn’t mean it is not a tool worth using. PG official recommendations is not the end all be all of what tools to use.
Most if not all AdGuard products are great tools to add in your privacy toolkit and can and do work well. The important thing is to always know what tool you’re using, why, and if it serves the purpose for which you’re using. That’s it. In this case, AdGuard is a reputable company that does good things in the privacy space and in my opinion is worth trusting.
