Email aliase service that allows users to generate email addresses and forward emails to their main provider

Why I think this tool should be added

Mozilla relay has been around for some time. They offer support for custom domains and have a transparent faq.

Free account option give 5 permanent email addresses that the user can delete at any time. While the paid option at 2 a month gives support for unlimited addresses.

It is also open source at GitHub - mozilla/fx-private-relay: Keep your email safe from hackers and trackers. Make an email alias with 1 click, and keep your address to yourself. there is also plans for phone number masking in the future.

It appears that it has the option to mask phone numbers as well, so it could be put on the recommended list on the VoIP page. I can’t try this service in my area yet, but I’m very interested in it.

There is a waitlist, it isn’t available yet.

Maybe have a page for aliasing for services that does both phone and email aliasing. Then a separate page for just phone and email aliasing.

Tried it out, Relay works quite well and integrate well into Firefox. I think it should be added, seems like a good option if you already have a Firefox account for E2EE syncing for example.

I’m wondering if I should create a Mozilla account.

It’s not available globally, for instance paid plans are on a waitlist in Australia.

I don’t think we should recommend a tool with such a restriction currently.

Anonymous replies seem to be a paid feature. Also if you CC someone apparently it reveals your real email address. But it integrates with Firefox really well, very much like how it works with Hide My Email in Safari.

Not sure if there’s anything they can do about that though. That’s probably down to your email client right?

Is this a bug or a technical limitation? Seems odd that CC can betray my privacy.

I mean yeah true if you add a cc youself that is different I guess. I thought you meant if you get mail with someone in CC.

Simplelogin does warn you if you did add a cc yourself.
