I was thinking about disabling default webview via adb and switch to a more privacy friendly alternative. However I’m confused between the options.
Vanadium as far as i know doesn’t have a public release, Thorium has a very slow release cycle and ungoogled chromium seem to be discontinued. That leaves my choices to either Mulch or Cromite. Which one should i pick between these?
That’s not how it works. Stick with the default WebView.
Can you elaborate further?
The default webview on stock is backed by Chrome and very much does have telemetry.
You can’t just change your WebView, that would require you to root which completely destroys the security of Android devices.
What I meant is that “you can’t just change it, that’s not how it works.”
I’m actually rooted. I have my reasons to do so
