What do you think about this communication platforms? (based on discord competitors; for community chat)

Guilded #they say that they don’t collect a lot data but idk; but it’s better than discords

Element (Matrix) #it’s a bit harder to use (for me) + not very much settings for chats; unless i think i have to self host it (i didn’t try though)

Stoat (formerly known as revolt) #idk, but i just like it xd
Mattermost #didn’t use but i heard it’s self hostable

Zulip #same as mattermost

What even is this post and formatting. Please see how others make posts to learn. I see you’re new here but I recommend some due diligence.

Zulip is great and can be used on a hosted service, you don’t have to self host it if you don’t want to or can’t. I suggest this or Mattermost for a Slack alternative.

Discourse (the tool this forum runs on) is also a good option if the use case is a little different than team/enterprise chat.

Sadly I haven’t used any of the alternatives from above, only played around with them.
Mainly due the fact, that I have no one to talk on there.

sorry, but alright
anyways, im honestly seeking ease of use and good configuration to make good community server so i guess?
but like is zulip any good; tbh i just realised that zulip and mattermost is team type; but idk, it kind of looks good

If I may be to be the guy to jump the gun and say that for communities may I recommend Matrix with bridges relaying to other platforms like Telegram and Discord (optionally IRC if feeling old school)

Go with Zulip. I like it the best. Mattermost is also somewhat popular. I don’t think there is a wrong option here with these two.
