Weâve just celebrated our 11th birthday, and for this occasion we are excited to announce that the âBuy Europeanâ trend has really accelerated our growth (even though we think this trend in tech is still more related to deGoogle, than to US- or EU-based companies), particularly when it comes to paying customers. This is amazing to see as people start to understand that âIf itâs free, you are the productâ.
We are sure that this success is related to communities like yours who are never tired of spreading the word about the need for better privacy, and we are incredibly thankful to you!
I have a friend that works for Tuta. He really likes the company and already tried to convince me to move out from Proton. If the new Switzerland bill against privacy pass Iâll probably give a try on Tuta and he will be very happy about it, lol.
I have a Proton Mail account (main account) and Tuta and frankly I much prefer the philosophy of the Tuta team than Proton who for me like to spread themselves too thin. The things Tuta lacks to become truly competitive with Proton is an overhaul of the interface (especially) and PGP by default like Proton Mail I would say. Iâm still waiting for news of Tuta Drive too, hoping that Tuta wonât spread itself too thin over time like Proton does.
Thanks for your feedback. Thatâs why we are taking it a bit slower (so not to spread to thin), but weâre already working on Tuta Drive, so stay tuned!
Tbh it is unfortunate timing as I had left Tuta for Proton Duo.
Buut, it was indeed most needed at that. And I have no dissatisfaction outside of no proper export import to other providers with the service so congrats, This is sick!
Is it possible to create a tier compared to Proton Family? I have four users (two adults and two kids), with high amounts of cloud storage needs, and at least 50 GB mailbox space for each user. VPN and Password Manager are not required but custom domain support for everyone, plus aliases on these custom domains are mandatory.
I am checking Legendary plan, but 96 Euro per user is a bit much, and 500 GB space just for mailbox looks like overkill, unless I misread it and it is actually a cloud drive space.
I hope you know/realize that not all cloud storage service is for all kinds of storage needs. For example, if you want to store movies and shows you own to your cloud, it would not make much sense but if you have other family media or documents, files, etc. to store, then Tuta Drive or Proton Drive make sense for that kind of stuff.
It is not some tv series or videos. I have project files, personal files, lots of legal documents. I am currently using around 800ish GB just for my own.
My mailbox is around 17 GB at the moment, and that is after regular cleanup.
Imagine adding personal photos and videos, and random stuff from kids into the cloud.
Alrighty then.. I guess you know what and how to go about it. But to constantly pay for cloud storage for that amount of data, I would rather get a large flash storage SSD and use it with Cryptomator instead.
ANyways, thatâs just what I would do. Iâm sure you know your needs and wants better.
It would be great if Tuta could create aliases or join forces with an alias generation service like Proton with SimpleLogin, or perhaps the Addy service.
You can still use your Tuta email with SimpleLogin or any other aliasing service. Thereâs nothing stopping anyone from doing it. A direct company partnership is not necessary.
Tuta does have manual configuration/setup of aliases. They call them âextra email addressesâ in the settings and feature matrixes. Iâve got 3 set up on my account.
Yes, I know you can use SL and any other service with Tuta, but it would be great if Tuta could integrate a service directly, so that it becomes cheaper like Proton with SL.
