I’m trying to find a reliable email service where I can register a new account while routing my traffic through a VPN.
While the standard recommendations here are ProtonMail and Tuta, I keep running into the same issue: the anti-abuse systems flag my IP, and the account gets marked as suspicious or requires invasive verification right out of the gate (for example using another email to verify the private one).
I’m looking for alternatives. Does anyone here have any go to providers (either for persistent accounts or temporary/burner addresses) that have a higher tolerance for VPN IPs during registration?
Have you tried switching to a different server and then registering? I have created both Proton and Tuta emails while on Proton VPN so i know they allow it.
Do you need to keep using the email address after creation? If not Internxt have a temp mail service that is all done in a browser session, it isn’t routed to your inbox so you don’t have to “register” with a provider and when you close your browser session the email is destroyed. I “think “ safenote might have a similar service too
Tuta. Their anti spam measures are so strong in a weird way that they even recommend using a VPN if you get blocked while using your own ISP’s ip address. Maybe you can try changing your VPN’s servers to find a usable one?
Thus far I haven’t run into this issue using ProtonMail (with none of the VPN providers I’ve been using). I would like to add Posteo to the list of email providers that (AFAIK) don’t use any anti-abuse measures.
