so now that VoIP services are approved to be on the website, I suggest we get some knowledgeable people to write up a knowledge base article explaining how the technology works to the Privacy Guides audience, like a VoIP Overview or whatever (or maybe even include an overview article on cellular communications?)
me personally I do not know how VoIP (or cell comms) works, and i feel that the same is for a lot of people. (I know it has to do with sending voice data over the internet, but that’s about it.) it feels almost like a black box, and I think that the more people understand how it works the better our audience’s privacy hygiene will be.
and as for cell comms, a overview article on it is especially important in a day and age where phone numbers (at least in America) is carried around by almost everyone, and as privacy-invasive as it is, they just accept it and go on with their day. i advocate for the website to help shine light on this black box for laypeople.
