I currently have a draft where I make a case for members of this community to start writing letters to their representatives asking them to support data privacy, and for an effort from the site developers to make it easier for people to find out how, but I’m not sure if this is the appropriate place to do it. If it isn’t, does anyone here know where would be better?
The forum is the most appropriate place to share things with the community. If you primarily want to write something about privacy that community members should read, Privacy is a good place for it. If you primarily want to suggest a change to the website, Site Development is a good place for it.
I consider both aspects to be vital, so it’s hard to say that it’s “primarily” one or the other. Would you suggest splitting it up, where the call to action part is in Privacy and the site development suggestions are in Site Development?
Only if you have pretty specific instructions/suggestions on what exactly you want added to the site. If it’s just a general idea it’s probably fine being one post in Privacy. Up to you to decide what you think makes the most sense.
Do you think there’s any benefit to working with on it with someone, like maybe a staff member, before posting?
