Video game live streaming platform

What’s the privacy and private equivalent to Twitch?

I can’t find any recommendation on PG.

If you are already on Steam, there is a video broadcast function in the chat.

The problem is discovery. You have to be Steam friends with the group you want to interact with. I haven’t tried if being in a community group enables this function so you don’t have to have randos on your friend list.

AFAIK there isn’t a picture-in-picture function so people cant see your face and reaction while you play. I haven’t tried if you can reloop your video like in OBS, where I presume you can get another face/scene to get the same effect.

That’s what I’m using, but I was thinking more a combination of that + a video conference tool like signal.

But all in one :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m on Windows and it would be on Steam indeed. I connect my PC through an HDMI port (not sure if relevant or not).

Edit: I just checked OBS. Another requirement would be that the person doesn’t have to subscribe to the service. I would just send a link to the stream. Does OBS permit that?

OBS Handles the stream for you via the RTSP protocol. So anything on the platform side that’s on them.
1 Idea is using a web server RTSP and hosting to friends through vpn like GitHub - bluenviron/mediamtx: Ready-to-use SRT / WebRTC / RTSP / RTMP / LL-HLS media server and media proxy that allows to read, publish, proxy, record and playback video and audio streams. this way or maybe you can try plugging it to something I daresay hasn’t ever discussed in this forum, to ChilloutVR [privacy] and you can stream that through the video Players.
But you get the idea. You can allow streams to be watched on YouTube and Twitch without the other side needing to follow or subscribe of course.

Thanks! I’m surprised that, from the replies so far, there’s no app that does it all since streaming is so popular nowadays.

I’ll just continue using steam for now (without video conference tool).

Unless someone has another tool that does it all to suggest.
