As you know there are problems with VPN kill-switch on iOS. I wanna know if there is any difference when you configure VPN using the business aimed profiles. For instance, companies use endpoint managers to proxy their apps through their VPN. Can we personally do this in order to achieve a more robust VPN solution. Afaik, imazing provides free profile configurator.
You can achive similar results by putting the iDevice in Supervised Mode using Apple’s own Apple Configurator app for macOS, I believe. If memory serves, Perfect Privacy had guides for this on their website.
Not sure if it will negate all the flaws in Apple’s iOS/iPadOS VPN implementation, but most of the queries to Apple services that used to “leak” outside the tunnel will now happen within it.
Afaik, this type of setup (Supervised Mode or via MDM profiles) will only work with VPN protocols that are natively supported by the operating system, meaning L2TP, IPSec, IKEv2.
Thanks for the reply. During my research, me too find out that it does not support OpenVPN or wireguard, that are supported by commercial VPNs. It’s a pity. So it’s not suitable for users like us.
